Susana Mata fue una docente de Almirante Brown que integra la nefasta lista de ciudadanos asesinados por el terrorismo de estado. “Tuti”, como la llamaban en su circulo intimo, se recibió de maestra en el año 1965, y poco a poco fue tomando conciencia de la pobreza y las injusticias que padecían los sectores más postergados de la sociedad.
Desde su rol docente se compenetró con el sindicalismo, siendo la primera secretaria general del sindicato docente Unión de Educadores de Almirante Brown y una de las forjadoras de la unión de los maestros de todo el país en una sólo organización que se convirtió en lo que hoy se conoce como CTERA.
Cuando la violencia institucional ejercida por el terrorismo de estado ponía en riesgo la vida de miles de argentinos, Susana con su marido Juan Barry, también militante, y su pequeña hija Alejandrina se mudan a Montevideo. En tierras uruguayas, el 15 de diciembre de 1977, son perseguidos por las fuerzas represivas argentinas y uruguayas que, primero acribillan a su esposo, y luego fueron en busca de Susana, quien se tomó la pastilla de cianuro, ya que elije no caer y morir a manos de los militares, al quedar cercada en su casa de Lagomar en las cercanías de Montevideo.
Hoy, 38 años después, y en marco de la conmemoración del Día del Maestro, Susana fue recordada en la Escuela 23 de Los Alamos, donde ejerció como docente.
El acto contó con la presencia del candidato a intendente de Almirante Brown, Mariano Cascallares; el subsecretario de Educación de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Nestor Ribet, delegaciones de abanderados y escoltas de diez establecimientos educativos de Almirante Brown. También participaron autoridades como la Inspectora Jefa Regional Nora Saporiti, el Presidente del Consejo Escolar, Leonardo Herrera, María Rosa Martínez, Germán Bonnemezón y Sergio Pianciola, además de representantes gremiales, maestras en actividad y jubiladas de la docencia, familiares y compañeras de militancia de Susana.
Durante el homenaje, Cascallares resaltó la figura de Susana que “es un símbolo , del esfuerzo y el trabajo permanente que hacen los docentes y los equipos de cada una de las escuelas de Almirantes Brown, de la provincia y del país. Docentes con vocación que se inspiran en mujeres y hombres como Susana que dieron su vida por sus ideales”.
El homenaje no sólo fue recuerdo sino también un hecho de reparación histórica. En el legajo de Susana figuraba que había hecho “abandono de cargo” pero hoy se entregó a las familias una copia rectificada de sus fojas de servicio, en donde se determina la desaparición o la persecución política como la verdadera causa de la “baja”.
“Todas las personas que la conocieron, recuerdan a aquella joven dulce, preocupada por los demás, inteligente, reflexiva, solidaria con sus compañeras, clara en sus explicaciones, buena amiga, cariñosa con los que la necesitaban y sobre todo enamorada de su compañero, de su hija y de los ideales conjuntos”, recordaron sus amigas durante el homenaje en el cual también descubrió en el hall central de la escuela una placa homenaje.
“Susana, presente. Ahora..y siempre”. Fueron las palabras que sonaron con fuerzas en los pasillos de la escuela, una escuela donde la memoria se hizo presente, por Susana, por los miles de docentes y argentinos desaparecidos y por las futuras generaciones, porque estos hechos ayudan a los jóvenes a conocer su historia, su pasado y la importancia de la justicia y los derechos humanos.
