Mañana 200 aspirantes a integrar la Policía Local arrancarán el curso de formación que culminarán hacia fines de octubre cuando se incorporarán definitivamente como efectivos policiales. Se trata de la segunda camada de agentes, que se sumará a los efectivos ya recibidos que estarán en las tareas de prevención en las calles desde el próximo 28 de mayo.
La Policía Local es un sistema de seguridad implementado por el Gobierno de la provincia de Buenos Aires para distritos con más de 70 mil habitantes que tiene como objetivo la prevención de los delitos dando herramientas, capacitación y formación a hombres y mujeres que van a prestar servicios a la comunidad, en combinación con el resto de las fuerzas policiales.
Esta nueva fuerza será financiada, equipada y conformada con el presupuesto de la provincia de Buenos Aires y será coordinada por una Superintendencia de Seguridad Local, que se creó en el ámbito de la Subsecretaría de Planificación del Ministerio de Seguridad
