La cantante de música patagónica Marta Pirén vecina de Glew fue distinguida por el Senado de la Nación con el premio Nelly Omar en reconocimiento de aquellas mujeres destacadas por su aporte a la cultura nacional y popular.
La entrega se realizó en el salón azul del palacio legislativo, por iniciativa de la senadora nacional María Ester Labado, siendo esta la primera vez que se entrega la distinción que fuera aprobada por el congreso nacional en honor y memoria de la mítica cantora nacional, Nelly Omar, popularmente conocida como “La Gardel con Polleras” yEs también una forma de destacar a mujeres que irradian la fuerza de su arte en aportes significativos que enriquecen nuestro acervo cultural.
“Es una gran satisfacción y es un orgullo que nos llamen cantoras”, expresó Pirén al compartir escenario con Roxana Carabajal, Yamila Cafrune y Sara Mamani, también artistas nacionales galardonadas.
Del evento participó Teresa Saporiti, quien compartió un fragmento del documental que realizó en memoria de su tía abuela Nelly Omar. Además, recibió en representación de la familia, una copia de la resolución que instituyó este premio otorgado por el Senado de la Nación.
La cantora de Glew
La artista local quien hace 27 años vive en Glew siempre revalorizó los pueblos originarios de la Patagonia reflejado en sus canciones y en sus acciones. En el año 1988 se mudó a Glew y es su lugar elegido donde hizo prácticamente toda su vida. Según Marta relata, “se arraigó a este lugar”, sintiendo su identidad en esta localidad.
