Micaela Medrano fue hallada muerta por su madre en la mañana del 30 de agosto de 2013 en la habitación donde se dedicaba a estudiar. La joven fue atacada sexualmente y estrangulada dentro de su casa de la localidad de Villa Albertina
Pese a la corta distancia entre el cuarto y la casa principal, los padres no escucharon gritos de auxilio ni vieron movimientos extraños. Tras una serie de investigaciones, la Policía detuvo al ex novio de su hermana, Juan Leite Ruiz, quien tenía en su poder el celular de Micaela.
En marzo de ese año, el acusado fue condenado a prisión perpetua por los delitos de “abuso sexual con homicidio resultante, en concurso real con hurto calamitoso”, en un fallo dictado por el Tribunal Oral Criminal 2 del Departamento Judicial de Lomas de Zamora.
Este fin de semana al cumplirse dos años de la muerte de Micaela, allegados a la joven realizaron una misa en la capilla Nuestra Señora de Luján de Longchamps.
El entorno familiar de la víctima asegura que este año el homenaje se vivió de otra manera, debido a la condena a cadena perpetua que su asesino, Alberto Leite Ruiz, cumple de manera efectiva.
“Después del juicio nuestra familia está más tranquila”, aseguró Ezequiel, hermano de Micaela, quien justificó esa tranquilidad en el hecho de saber que Leite Ruiz “está pagando por lo que hizo” y que gracias a ello “se hizo justicia por Micaela”.
