Cristina Fernández de Kirchner lo dijo al encabezar el acto de inauguración del Sitio de Memoria emplazado en el edificio del ex Casino de Oficiales que funciona dentro del Espacio de la Memoria en las instalaciones del ex centro clandestino de detención de la Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada, según se informó oficialmente.
La presidenta Cristina Fernández de Kirchner pidió a los argentinos garantizar “el respeto de los derechos humanos, de la Memoria, la Verdad y la Justicia” que -indicó- “no pueden quedar en manos de un presidente ni de un Parlamento ni de un Poder Judicial” sino que es “patrimonio de todos”.
“Estamos ante la inmensa responsabilidad de saber que los 40 millones de argentinos tienen que garantizar el respeto de los derechos humanos, la memoria, la verdad y la Justicia”, aseveró la mandataria al encabezar la inauguración de un Sitio de la Memoria en el predio de la ex Esma, donde funcionó uno de los más emblemáticos centros clandestinos de detención de la dictadura cívico militar.
Allí, afirmó que “el pueblo es el que se tiene que empoderar de su propia historia”, y sostuvo que la garantía del respeto a los derechos humanos y los procesos de Memoria, Verdad y Justicia “no pueden quedar en manos ni de un presidente, ni de un Parlamento ni del Poder Judicial”.
“Ya no tenemos que esperar que nos proteja un presidente o una presidenta”, enfatizó la mandataria en el marco del acto que forma parte de las celebraciones por el 25 de Mayo.
En ese lugar, recordó el acto del 24 de marzo del 2004, cuando el entonces presidente Néstor Kirchner encabezó el acto de recuperación del ex predio de la ESMA y pidió perdón el nombre del Estado Nacional “por la vergüenza de haber callado durante 20 años de democracia tantas atrocidades”.
“Ese 24 marzo vino a recuperar no sólo un edificio, no sólo un ex centro clandestino de detención sino que vino a recuperar la memoria y la historia de todos los argentinos”, subrayó la mandataria.
En ese sentido, destacó que la ex ESMA se trata de un “sitio de memoria y no de un museo” porque -indicó- “en el museo se guarda el pasado”, mientras que en los sitios de la memoria se guarda “la Memoria, la Justicia y la Verdad”.
“Es el pueblo el que se tiene que empoderar de su propia historia. Hoy aquí hay una victoria de la vida sobre la muerte, de la memoria sobre el olvido, de la Patria sobre la antipatria. Hoy, aquí, ellos están inmortalizados, más vivos y presentes que nunca en todos ustedes y en la historia”, aseveró la mandataria.
A su vez, al cerrar su discurso, Cristina llamó a todos los argentinos a “defender” el rol de defensores de los derechos humanos que distingue al país en el mundo.
