El hecho se produjo anoche alrededor de las 22, cuando los asaltantes armados circulaban a bordo de una camioneta marca Land Rover, que luego pudo comprobarse que habían robado horas antes en Valentín Alsina, en el partido de Lanús.
Según dijeron los voceros consultados, los ladrones conducían por la intersección de Antonio Montruyt e Hipólito Vieytes, en Banfield, partido de Lomas de Zamora, cuando observaron un auto Volkswagen Gol estacionado con una pareja joven en su interior.
Frenaron a pocos metros y ambos bajaron arma en mano, se acercaron al Gol, sorprendieron al joven dueño del auto y a su novia y les ordenaron que les entregaran las pertenencias.
Sin embargo, el joven resultó ser un miembro de la División Especial de Seguridad Halcón, grupo de operaciones especiales de la Policía provincial, quien se identificó, extrajo su arma reglamentaria y se inició un tiroteo.
Uno de los ladrones recibió impactos en el estómago y en la ingle, cayó al suelo y falleció prácticamente en el acto, mientras que su cómplice corrió hacia la línea de casas de Montruyt al 1600 y escapó por los techos hacia el interior de la manzana.
El policía del Grupo Halcón se comunicó de inmediato con la comisaría local para relatar lo sucedido, por lo que pronto llegaron a la zona más efectivos que comenzaron un operativo rastrillaje en la zona y a revisar casa por casa en busca del prófugo.
Finalmente, éste pudo ser ubicado escondido en el jardín de una vivienda situada a 50 metros del lugar del tiroteo y fue arrestado sin que opusiera resistencia.
En tanto, también arribaron al lugar médicos de emergencias que constataron que el delincuente baleado había fallecido.
Los pesquisas secuestraron dos armas de fuego a los ladrones, ambos mayores de edad, y recuperaron la camioneta Land Rover robada.
