Mientras limpiaban los arroyos Las Piedras y San Francisco, en el Oeste del partido de Quilmes, encontraron ocho cadáveres en los últimos dos meses. “Es un reflejo de lo que está pasando en la zona y de la falta de políticas de Estado”, sostuvieron desde la Comisión de Lucha Contra la Contaminación y las Inundaciones (COLCIC), la ONG encargada de la limpieza.
“Había tres cuerpos debajo de la basura, que los encontramos cuando pasábamos una de las máquinas, y los otros directamente en el agua. Avisamos a la Policía, que viene a buscarlos”, describió el presidente de COLCIC, Enrique García, que suele limpiar cursos de agua de Quilmes.
Nadie sabe todavía de quiénes son los cadáveres o cómo llegaron hasta allí. Desde la jefatura policial, el secretario departamental Marcelo Urrejola dijo: “No hubo denuncias formales, y si algo sucede, debe pasar por esta oficina”. Sin embargo, en COLCIC aseguran que cada vez que encontraron un cuerpo en Quilmes avisaron a las comisarías 5ª, de La Cañada, o 7ª, de Santa María, desde donde los retiraron con ambulancias o personal de bomberos.
Si bien a principios de este año se terminó un proyecto –a cargo de la Provincia– de perfilado y dragado para evitar las históricas inundaciones en las veras de ambos arroyos, lo que ahora está complicando las tareas de limpieza es la constante aparición de autos desarmados, que se explican con el contexto social de la zona, según indican desde COLCIC.
“Alrededor de los arroyos empezaron a armarse barrios hace años. Hoy viven 92 mil personas que no tienen ningún servicio básico: ni agua, ni cloacas, ni luz, ni recolección de basura. Eso hace que la zona se vuelva crítica. Hay tres puntos en los que encontramos siempre autos, que están desarmados y seguramente vinculados con delitos: uno en el barrio Los Eucaliptos, otro en La Florida y un tercero en Montevideo y el arroyo San Francisco”, detalló García.
Y agregó: “Sacamos los autos y no podemos trasladarlos al predio policial donde los guardan, entonces suelen quedar ahí al lado del agua. A veces son los mismos vecinos que, cansados de tener chatarra, vuelven a tirarlos al arroyo. Así no se puede avanzar en el cuidado de la zona”.
Ahora, tras el pedido de COLCIC, desde la Comuna prometieron empezar a participar al menos para evitar que los restos de autos que se sacan del agua queden acumulados a la vera de los arroyos. La idea, según adelantaron, es que el Municipio se haga cargo del traslado a un predio comunal o a las comisarías de la zona.
