El Ministerio de Salud de la provincia de Buenos Aires negó que vaya a cerrar el servicio de Neonatología del hospital Arturo Oñativia, de Rafael Calzada, en el partido de Almirante Brown. “Se encuentra en pleno funcionamiento y con las guardias cubiertas, lo que permitió que en los últimos 15 días se atendieran 50 nacimientos, entre partos naturales y césareas”, dijeron desde la cartera sanitaria provincial.
Sin embargo, la licenciadaMaría Rosa Álvarez, Secretaria General de la CICOP en el Oñativia (Asociación Sindical de Profesionales de la Salud de la Provincia de Buenos Aires) negó los términos del comunicado. “No es así, hoy estuvimos en una reunión con la doctora Lourteau y la verdad es que se está tratanto de resolver, pero no está en pleno funcionamiento. El servicio está recontra restringido: está funcionando al 20 por ciento”, dijo. “Los cuatro días de carnaval fueron un caos”, graficó.
Desde la Dirección Provincial de Hospitales de la cartera sanitaria, informaron que hay un compromiso de todo el personal jerárquico y de planta para que el servicio funcione, porque se trata de un recurso que en los últimos años escasea en todo el país. “La dificultad no radica en los cargos sino en que no se consiguen candidatos; es un problema generalizado”, explicó Gabriela Lourteau, médica asesora de esa direcció. No obstante, la profesional sostuvo que “las atenciones están garantizadas” y detalló que “en las últimas dos semanas se atendieron 50 nacimientos y se recibieron dos derivaciones del hospital Gandulfo de Lomas de Zamora”. Álvarez respondió: Se derivaron pacientes al hospital El Cruce , de Varela, porque el Lucio Meléndez tiene un neonatólogo por día”.
Con respecto a la falta de candidatos para cubrir los cargos de neonatólogos disponibles en el hospital, se adelantó también que junto a la subsecretaría de Planificación de la Salud se abrió la convocatoria y se espera a que en mayo se puedan incorporar los egresados de estas residencias en la Provincia.
Por otro lado, la delegada descartó un manejo político de la situación de crisis en el centro de salud. “No estamos en ninguna interna, ni con (Daniel) Scioli ni con (Darío) Giustozzi, estamos defendiendo la continuidad del servicio de neonatología del Oñativia”. Y dijo que después de que surgieron los problemas, se acercó la doctora Lourteau, en nombre de la Provincia, para brindar apoyo y tratar de resolver el problema en un hospital ubicado en una zona densamente poblada
