El Ministerio del Interior y Transporte dispuso extender hasta el 31 de marzo de 2016 el plazo establecido para que los menores de 75 años renueven el Documento Nacional de Identidad (DNI), con el objetivo de “evitar confusión o posibles inconvenientes a la hora de ejercer el derecho al voto por parte de la totalidad de los ciudadanos”.
Este plazo, que originalmente vencía en diciembre de 2014, ya había sido prorrogado y daba como fecha límite el 30 de junio de 2015 para reemplazar con el nuevo DNI los documentos de identidad anteriores.
Finalmente y dado que aún la totalidad de los ciudadanos no realizó el cambio, la cartera que conduce Florencio Randazzo decidió extender el plazo hasta marzo del año próximo.
Según la resolución 2030/2015, publicada hoy en el Boletín Oficial, “esta prórroga se da “con el objeto de evitar confusión o posibles inconvenientes a la hora de ejercer el derecho al voto por parte de la totalidad de los ciudadanos, y al mismo tiempo, de brindar mayores facilidades a aquellos que aún no han tenido acceso al cambio del DNI manual por el Nuevo DNI digital”.
La nueva fecha límite para el recambio de DNI “toma en consideración evitar inconvenientes a los ciudadanos tanto en fechas festivas y período estival durante los cuales se movilizan millones de personas dentro y fuera del país, como en el inicio del ciclo lectivo”.
Por último, la resolución remarca que “el Código Electoral Nacional habilita a los electores a votar con todos los tipos de documento cívico, siempre que se trate del último ejemplar tramitado por el titular, sin distinción de su formato”.
Las personas que deben remplazar su documento son aquellas menores de 75 años que poseen el DNI de tapa verde, la libreta de enrolamiento o la libreta cívica.
En la página de Internet del Ministerio del Interior (www.mininterior.gov.ar) se pueden ingresar los datos y conocer si se debe llevar a cabo la renovación; y de ser necesario, en el mismo portal se puede sacar turno para realizar el trámite.
