Año tras año la consolidación de la vía democrática como el único sistema de gobierno posible hace que las fiestas patrias, hitos constitutivos de nuestra historia que posibilitaron dejar atrás las relaciones dependientes de otras naciones, adquieran cada vez mayor significado.
La Revolución de Mayo de 1810 en el Río de la Plata fue el primer paso hacia la independencia de España, cuyos dominio político y monopolio comercial crearon una clara explotación, previa a mayo de 1810.
En la Semana de Mayo sucedieron varios acontecimientos que terminaron con la creación de la Primera Junta de Gobierno, y de esta manera se avanzó hacia nuestra independencia. Por eso, hoy a 205 años se la celebra en todo el país, y por supuesto el Sur no podía ser la excepción.
Lomas de Zamora
La plaza Grigera fue el epicentro de una nueva celebración: más de 20 cuerpos de ballet folklórico locales y seis espectáculos musicales pasaron por el escenario. Los artesanos locales tampoco se perdieron la celebración, y acompañaron a los stands de productos de distintas provincias, así como la presencia de los hermanos mexicanos y colombianos.

En la plaza Sarmiento, ubicada en 9 de Julio y Gaebeler, estuvo una vez más la Feria de las Colectividades, con la posibilidad de degustar distintas exquisiteces. También hubo espacio para los productores
y artesanos locales. Además, bandas de la región dieron el marco festivo a la celebración
Almirante Brown
En el Polideportivo de Rafael Calzada el Ballet Folklórico local desplegó su singular espectáculo para los vecinos, que también disfrutaron de recitales de grupos folklóricos. “Esta es una celebración para toda la familia”, aseguraron desde el Municipio. El festejo comenzó a a las 14 y se entendió hasta pasadas las 19.
Esteban Echeverría
La comuna recibió a sus vecinos en la Plaza 25 de Mayo, ubicada en Adolfo Negro, entre Hernández y Martín Coronado. A las 9 se realizó el acto formal, que contó con la participación de asociaciones del distrito y vecinos ilustres.
San Vicente
La propuesta de esta comuna también fue variada. A las 9 se realizó la “Oración por la Patria” en la Iglesia San Vicente Ferrer, ubicada
en Bolívar 50. Minutos más tarde, el homenaje a Mariano Moreno, que se desarrolló en la plaza homónima.
El color se hizo presente y la tradición también. Es que pasadas las 10 se realizó el “Desfile tradicional”, frente al Palacio Municipal, ubicado en Sarmiento 39.
