Cristina Fernández de Kirchner encabezará el acto de inauguración del Sitio de Memoria emplazado en el edificio del ex Casino de Oficiales que funciona dentro del Espacio de la Memoria en las instalaciones del ex centro clandestino de detención de la Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada, según se informó oficialmente.
El acto será el primero de una serie de actividades para conmemorar un nuevo aniversario de la Revolución de Mayo que el gobierno nacional llevará adelante bajo el lema “El mismo Sol, la misma Patria”.
La mandataria recorrerá los 5200 metros cuadrados de las instalaciones del predio que funcionó como un centro clandestino de detención, tortura y exterminio durante la última dictadura, y luego brindará su discurso presidencial ante funcionarios, familiares de víctimas de la dictadura, representantes y referentes de organismos de derechos humanos de todo el país.
“El Sitio de Memoria es una propuesta museográfica del Directorio del Ente del Espacio para la Memoria; Organismos de Derechos Humanos; y la Secretaria de Derechos Humanos del Ministerio de Justicia de la Nación”, informaron, sobre el trabajo de un equipo de curadores encabezados por Alejandra Naftal y Hernán Bisman.
Su trabajo aseguró la conservación edilicia del espacio permitiendo conocer su funcionamiento que tuvo mientras fue utilizado como centro clandestino de detención, y recuperar así la historia para mantener viva la memoria de quienes atravesaron con su propia vida, la crueldad del Terrorismo de Estado.
El Sitio de Memoria de la ex ESMA es “un histórico reclamo de los organismos de derechos humanos nucleados en el Directorio del Ente Público Espacio para la Memoria, y que el Estado Nacional desarrolló y llevó a cabo” y su “puesta en marcha se enmarca en una Política de Estado que sostiene las banderas de ‘Memoria, Verdad y Justicia’ como ejes de la Democracia”.
El Sitio de Memoria ex ESMA está ubicado en Av. del Libertador 8151 de esta capital.
El centro clandestino de la ESMA fue uno de los principales centros de tortura y exterminio por donde pasaron personas, generalmente perseguidas por su militancia política, social y sindical, la mayoría de las cuales permanece desaparecida.
En el edificio del entonces Casino de Oficiales eran alojados los secuestrados y sometidos a sesiones de tortura para obtener información. De allí partían los “vuelos de la muerte” en los que los detenidos eran arrojados vivos al Río de la Plata. En un sector de ese edificio funcionó una maternidad clandestina. Muchos de los niños que allí nacieron fueron entregados a militares o allegados a ellos.
