Luego de la resolución del organismo sudamericano, se decretó que River Plate avance a los cuartos de final de la Copa Libertadores. En tanto, Boca Juniors recibió una sanción económica de 200 mil dólares y sus hinchas no podrán ir a los próximos ocho partidos internacionales. El club de la rivera tendrá la posibilidad de apelar solamente el fallo económico.
Así fue informado hoy por el Tribunal de Disciplina de la CONMEBOL (Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol) en Luque, Paraguay, después de un largo debate que se extendió hasta bien entrada la noche, y la publicación del comunicado llegó a través de sus redes sociales y de su web.
River ganó entonces por 3-0, según el reglamento, tras el escándalo ocurrido en el superclásico del último jueves en La Bombonera, donde sus jugadores fueron agredidos por los simpatizantes boquenses en el entretiempo cuando el partido iba 0-0.
Así, el jueves 21 de mayo, el elenco ‘millonario’ jugará contra Cruzeiro de Brasil en el estadio Monumental de Núñez, a las 22, por la ida de los cuartos de final del certamen continental, y la semana siguiente disputará la revancha en la ciudad de Belo Horizonte.
De esta manera, el equipo de Marcelo Gallardo, que en la ida venció a Boca por 1-0, redondeó un global de 4-0 y se aseguró un lugar entre los ocho mejores de Sudamérica.
En tanto, Boca recibió una sanción mucho más leve de lo esperado, ya que en un principio se especuló con la suspensión de su cancha y además una exclusión por dos años de torneos internacionales.
Esto lo confirmó el Tribunal compuesto por el presidente brasileño Caio César Viera Rocha, el uruguayo Adrián Leiza Zunino, el boliviano Alberto Lozada Añez, el chileno Carlos Tapia Aravena y el colombiano Orlando Morales Leal.
“Por todo lo que sucedió en La Bombonera no quedaba otra que la descalificación. Boca no podrá apelar esta parte del fallo”, precisó Leiza Zunino a TN.
“Se tuvo en cuenta tanto el tema de las bengalas como el del drone. Todo contribuyó para que tomemos esta decisión. Y no influyó la FIFA. Solo lo definimos los dirigentes de la Conmebol”, agregó.
Más allá de esto, el fallo dejó en claro dos cosas: el poder que tiene Boca en Sudamérica y que es imposible erradicar la violencia del fútbol no solo en Argentina sino en el continente.
Es que los abogados del club que preside Daniel Angelici hasta analizaron la posibilidad de apelar el punto de la descalificación.
Y por el lado de River ya informaron el cronograma de ventas de entradas para el cruce contra Cruzeiro por un lugar en las semifinales.
En síntesis, con este fallo, tanto Boca como River ganaron. El club de Núñez clasificó a los cuartos de final y la entidad de La Ribera recibió una sanción leve, pese a que sus hinchas atacaron con un producto químico casero que les causó irritación en los ojos y bengalas que le generaron quemaduras en el cuerpo a los futbolistas “millonarios”.
