La viuda del escritor Jorge Luis Borges, Maria Kodama, visitará, hoy a las 18.30, la Casa Borges de Adrogué donde donará libros y será agasajada con dos obras de teatro: “Aproximación Borges” y “La rosa del paracelso”.
La Casa Borges se inauguró a fines del año pasado y funciona en la casa que Leonor Acevedo Suárez, madre de Borges, mandó construir en la localidad bonaerense de Adrogué en 1944, paraíso personal donde el escritor pasó sus veranos hasta 1953.
Los visitantes pueden encontrar en el antiguo comedor de la vivienda fotografías, videos y fragmentos de textos que refieren a la ciudad; la habitación que ocupaba el escritor es ahora la sala audiovisual y una segunda pieza recupera su obra en una pequeña biblioteca, junto a grabados y pinturas de su hermana Norah que retratan ese idílico Adrogué.
La Casa Borges también funciona como un centro de estudios e investigación, ofreciendo al mundo actividades totalmente gratuitas, como conferencias, seminarios, simposios, talleres, charlas, debates y visitas guiadas. Abrirá al público de lunes a sábado de 9 a 18 y los domingos de 12 a 18, en Diagonal Brown 301, Adrogué.
María Kodama
María Kodama conoció a Borges durante su participación en sesiones de estudios literarios, ya que ella, licenciada en literatura, era también traductora del islandés, idioma en el que el escritor estaba especialmente interesado.
Posteriormente se convirtió en su secretaria personal, colaborando con él en los libros “Breve antología anglosajona” y “Atlas”, testimonios de los viajes que ambos realizaran alrededor del mundo, y en la traducción del primer libro de la “Edda Menor” de Snorri Sturlson.
Se casó con Borges en Ginebra en 1986. Actualmente preside la Fundación Internacional Jorge Luís Borges, institución fundada en 1988 con sede en Buenos Aires que, desde entonces se dedica, como ella misma suele decir, “al enorme trabajo que supone difundir una obra tan maravillosa e inmensa”.
