La joven debía ir al psicólogo el 20 de abril y, luego, al colegio, pero no se hizo presente en ninguno de los dos lugares. Sin embargo, ese día no salió con el uniforme y su paradero era totalmente desconocido. Desde ese momento se realizó una intensa búsqueda.
Luego de su desaparición Luana se comunicó con su mamá por teléfono el jueves para decirle que estaba bien y no estaba secuestrada . “Hola má estoy bien, me dijo Luana. Por favor que no digan en los medios que estoy secuestrada”, contó la madre en referencia al diálogo con la adolescente.
